In 1986, Barbara was hired to organize and run the Open Mic at the Bluebird Cafe, which was well on it's way to becoming the world-renowned songwriter's venue it is today. Her struggle to perfect her craft as a writer paid off in 1993 when she had the hit single "I Guess You Had to Be There" recorded by Lorrie Morgan. Currently she books all the early shows at the Bluebird Cafe, and is a board member for the Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival. Because of her growing reputation for being able to spot talent there are many Nashville publishers eager to listen to writers she recommends. She secured initial appointments at Almo Irving Music for Bret Jones ("Better Man, Better Off," "Little Past Little Rock") and Anthony Smith (Mercury Recording Artist and writer of "Run," "I'm Trying" & "Didn't I") where both have both enjoyed significant success. The introductions she made for singer/songwriter Marcel after his performance on the Bluebird Cafe Open Mic opened Music Row doors for him the led to his artist deal on Mercury Records

Stan works with undiscovered songwriter/artist to keep fresh and as a way to get inside cuts should they be discovered. Last few years Stan has co-wrote with some of the class members.

"Writer's Block" is a weekly, independently produced radio program featuring ONLY Independent Performing Songwriters. The program has been on the air for 8 years and is web cast around the world.

10am-11:45am	Guitar workshop: Driving The Groove with Dave Isaacs			Make your writing and playing more dynamic and exciting by learning to think like a drummer. You can unlock tremendous rhythmic potential when you realize how much more you can do with your right hand than just strum up and down! We will explore the elements of groove and how to apply them to the guitar and how working from a groove can bring new dimension and energy to your songwriting.		Dave Isaacs has built a reputation as a master teacher, a versatile and inventive guitarist, and a compelling performer and songwriter. He has earned two degrees in guitar performance, released six independent CDs, and performed in concert halls and dive bars across the eastern US. Dave currently teaches at Grand Staff Music in Franklin and gigs steadily as half of Americana duo Good Souls.

Noon - 1pm	"How to Host a Successful Writers Night" How to put on, host and pull off a Writer's nite and Writer's nite do's and don'ts by Debi Champion			Deb host the writers night Tues, Wed, and Thurs at the Commodore Sports Bar in Nashville an industry recommended room. In 1978, she won the Mark Allen Critic's Choice Award for "Best Female Vocalist".		In 1985, she won the South Florida Music Award for "Best Rock/Pop/Blues Female Vocalist" Debi has appeared in concert with such diverse artists as Spyro Gyra, Bob James, Leon Russell, Dan Seals, The Dirt Band, Gary Morris, Kris Kristopherson, Restless Heart, Suzi Boggus, Dave Mason, Marshall Tucker Band, Ronnie Milsap, Three Dog Night. Deb has also toured as a back-up vocalist with Miami Dolphin, Tim Foley, and sang with the Miami Symphony. You might have heard some of her songs on HBO, Showtime, or TV.

She’s had cuts by such diverse artists as Diamond Rio, Collin Raye, Aiofe Clancy, Art Garfunkel, Aaron Neville, Grace Griffith, Don Jones and Alice Newman, Wayfaring Stranger, and Valerie Smith.		With her co-writer, Joel Evens, she’s had over 30 TV and film placements in recent years, including Num3rs, Bones, West Wing, JAG, and Providence. Her new book "1000 Songwriting Ideas" Published by; Hal Leonard, is available at Amazon, Barns & Noble, etc.

4:15pm-6:15pm	Song critiques by Tirk Wilder (Bring 1 song on CD & lyric sheet)			Tirk wrote the theme song for the mega-hit CBS television show, "Walker, Texas Ranger", "The Eyes of The Ranger" received the prestigious BMI TV Music award for three consecutive years.		On the heels of a record contract with RCA Victor, he appeared with such greats as Jerry Lee Lewis, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Dickie Betts, Black Oak Arkansas, David Allen Coe, Earl Thomas Conley, and many others. He has also toured throughout the country as keyboard player for country music sensation, Toby Keith.

Denny has Performed with the Nashville Symphony.		Critically acclaimed, Denny has written, performed and produced songs for T.V. and film soundtracks, including “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”, “Electric Horseman”, and “Stoker’s Ace”.

3:30pm - 4:30pm	"Everything Songwriting" Critically acclaimed author C J Watson			He's been on Austin City Limits twice and a main performer at the 2006 Kerrville Folk Festival. C J won the SW Regional 'Guitarmageddon' competition. C J was in the first rock band to tour China and has played at the Ryman (WSM Fanfare show)		C J has shared the stage with Charlie Louvin, Bad Company, Brad Paisley, Foghat, Stonewall Jackson, Wanda Jackson, Humble Pie, Chad Brock, The Georgia Satellites, Black Oak Arkansas, Juice Newton, Blake Shelton, The Byrds and a bunch of other cool people. Has had songs recorded by (some of which actually got released) James Otto (Mercury), Mustang Sally (Asylum), Lisa Shaffer (Lyric Street), Jason Whitehorn (Arista) and great Indie artists like Camille, Trent Jeffcoat and Christie Warner.
